WEF Africa 2017: Bridging the gap between education and industry

The WEF comes at a time the economic growth for Africa is not promising and is predicted as not going anywhere beyond five percent.

World and business leaders here are expected to provide solutions under this years theme, “Achieving inclusion for growth.” However, one of the key points identified by many is closing the skills gap and trying potential solutions like linking education providers and industries to achieve this.

President Zuma set the ball rolling and he addressed the media amidst other delegates citing the youth who have also been extensively involved in this years session as the key to achieving maximum results to boost economic growth.

While Zuma spoke of these, we spoke with Oxfam International Executive Director Mrs Winnie Byanyima. Oxfam recently released a report detailing the crisis faced by Africa’s poorest. They said the continents inequality crisis is greater than feared.
